If you haven’t heard, the Houston Astros are playing in the World Series this year against the L.A. Dodgers. These teams have significance to a lot of Fresnans—the California-based Dodgers have a lot of fans in Fresno, and Houston is the affiliate of the Fresno Grizzlies.
Thus, local baseball fans are invited to watch all Series games at Chukchansi Park starting tonight. The stadium will be open beginning at 4:30 each afternoon, and there will be no charge for admission.
Food trucks will be on hand for food and beverage purchase. The games start at 5 p.m.
According to the Grizzlies, “nine former Fresno Grizzlies between the 2015 and 2017 seasons have been on Houston’s postseason roster this autumn during the playoff run,” so you have good reason to root for Houston (I see you, Giants fans—you’d be rooting for Houston even if the Grizzlies weren’t their farm team).
Enjoy a crisp fall night out on the field with other baseball fans, and remember to support your Fresno Grizzlies next season.
