Are you or someone you know getting married? HashtagiDo wants to help you plan your wedding by hosting a how-to workshop that focuses on digital planning.
The “Put A #Hashtag On It” workshop will showcase the benefits of having and promoting a wedding day hashtag, and offer advice on how to come up with one that is creative, catchy, and personalized.
Brides-to-be will also learn about planning the digital side of their big day, and learn about the services HashtagiDo offers.
“In the age of social media, most couples in the planning phase of their wedding are incorporating hashtags into their big day,” says Christine Brown, social media strategist and founder of HashtagiDo (Hashtag-I-Do). “Some people think coming up with a hashtag is as simple as slapping their last name to wedding (like #SmithWedding), but there’s so much more to it than that.”

The workshop will take place at Her Space in north Fresno, Sunday, March 18, at 11 a.m. There is a $15 fee to attend the event, which Brown says will have a Sunday brunch vibe. (Find tickets to the event here.)
“Twelve of my absolute favorite local bridal vendors will be showcasing their services at the expo,” Brown says. “The event features giveaways, raffle prizes, a wine sampling, and snacks.”
Engelmann Cellars, Scribble & Script, Fleurie Flower Studio, Keep Life Simple Design, Make Pie Not War, Frosted Cakery, Dear Danger and Tanning Luxe are just some of the vendors taking part.

Social media helps include those who can’t be present
You may be thinking, This sounds familiar! I wrote about HashtagiDo last year, when Brown hosted her first workshop. Since then her business has continued to grow.
“I just love weddings,” Brown says. “But what I love about what I do is knowing that I am helping provide something that’s not only unique, but also gives the couple I work with one less thing to worry about.”
Brown helps couples celebrate their wedding via social media. That means she posts pictures and captures live video during wedding ceremonies. Last year, a medical emergency kept a man away from his stepson’s wedding, and she was able to live stream the wedding so he could watch it from the hospital.
“I know I have an important job and really take pride in what I do for the couples and the people who are watching,” she says.

Royal Wedding watch party in the works
The Put A #Hashtag On It event isn’t the only thing coming up for HashtagiDo. Plans are in the works for a Royal Wedding watch party—a local event to watch Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot on May 19.
Brown is working with Fresno’s Underground Supper Series and The Painted Table for this fun event. Stay tuned for more info in the coming weeks, and be sure to follow HashtagiDo on Facebook for more information.
