For all of us that work the traditional 9 to 5 office job, there is some allure to the idea of working from home. However, answering emails in your PJs and having the freedom to go where you want, when you want, may not be good for long-term productivity and success.
Enter Her Space, a new co-working space that works sort of like a gym membership. You pay a monthly fee and have access to work space, plus the benefit of collaboration with other women.
Productivity soars in a collaborative environment
Located at 7543 N. Ingram Ave. #106, near Palm and Nees in Fresno, Her Space is the brainchild of founder and president Kayla Pendleton.
Pendleton worked out of her home office for several years while telecommuting for her job in marketing. She says she found working from home to be isolating and counterproductive. There were too many distractions and interruptions.
Pendleton was living in San Diego at the time, where she came across a women’s co-working space. She became a member and loved it. She says her productivity and self-worth soared and she began to make wonderful connections that helped her take the company she worked for to the next level.
After moving to Fresno, she decided to open her own co-working space for women.
Membership benefits include more than just space
Her Space features a modern design with plenty of natural light. There are community co-working areas and quiet space as well. There are meeting rooms and access to things like coffee and spa water.
Membership levels range in price from $120-$325 per month. There’s also a $99 nonrefundable deposit for all new memberships.
Member benefits include the opportunity for collaboration through events like social hours. Meeting spaces are professional and provide opportunities to meet with clients. There are business tools such as access to high speed Wifi, printing, scanning, faxing, and large whiteboards. Her Space also offers mail handling and lockers. Plus, there’s a receptionist on duty.
