1. Fresno State Football Season Opener

2. E40 Live in Fresno

3. Pepe Aguilar y Familia Presentan: Jaripeo Sin Fronteras

4. Eat Figs Not Pigs & Max’s Bistro Pop-Up Eats

5. Seattle-To-Fresno Mini Fringe Festival

6. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
The 2018 Madera District Fair hosts Joan Jett and the Blackhearts Friday, Sept. 7, at 8 p.m. The show is free with paid gate admission, and is first come, first serve. More info here
7. Hearts of Gold Fundraiser
This event to benefit the Elder Paws Senior Dog Foundation features dinner, wine, a silent auction, entertainment from Jeremy “Elvis” Pearce, and more. It takes place from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 8. Tickets are $50 per person. More info here
8. A Taste of River Park 2018
Food sampling, wine tasting, entertainment, and more are the name of the game at this 21+ event on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 6-10 p.m. Guests will receive one taste from each winery and restaurant. Pre-sale tickets are $30; tickets day-of are $40. More info here
9. Luis Miguel – México Por Siempre
Singer Luis Miguel takes the stage at the Save Mart Center Sunday, Sept, 9, at 8:30 p.m. Tickets start at $29.95. More info here
10. Getting Started with Genealogy
The Fresno Historical Society presents this informative lecture on how to get started researching your family history. The event is free but reservations are required. Event time is 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13. More info here
11. Safari Night 2018
This fundraising event benefiting the Fresno Chaffee Zoo’s future exhibit, Kingdoms of Asia, features a silent auction, casino, desserts, entertainment, cocktails, and a live auction. Tickets for this 21+ event, which will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, are $100. Purchase tickets here
12. Able Advocates Benefit Concert
Bring your blanket or lawn chair and eat, drink, and listen to music while supporting a great cause. Tickets for this 21+ event are $25 in advance. If tickets are still available at the door, they will be $30. Event will be held Friday, Sept. 14, from 6 to 10 p.m. More info here
13. 7th Annual Bets for Pets FUNdraiser
“A Tropical Evening in Paradise” is the theme for this Saturday, Sept. 15 event, which benefits the Central California SPCA. Enjoy live entertainment from the Marie Wilson Band, barbecue from Chuck’s BBQ, and frozen yogurt from Gorilla Gurt, plus casino tables, wine and beer, a silent auction and raffle, and adorable animals ready for adoption. 14. Anjelah Johnson

15. 41st Fresno Scottish Gathering and Games 2018
Head to Kearney Park at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, to enjoy Scottish food, drink, and ale, plus vendors, caber tossing, and music. More info here
16. 4th Annual CityFest
This fundraiser to benefit the Fresno City College Dean’s Medallion Program will take place Friday, Sept. 21, from 6 to 10 p.m. This year’s CityFest features live bands, dancing, wine, beer, and a silent auction in the Old Administration Building. Tickets are $35. More info here
17. FresYes Movie in the Park
See Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle on a jumbo screen overlooking the bluffs. This free, family-friendly event features food, pre-movie entertainment, and more, and starts at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. More info here
18. Cirque Du Soleil: Corteo

19. CMAC 60 Hour Film Race 2018
The CMAC Film Race is a race where participants write, shoot, edit, and deliver a 3-5 minute short film before the deadline. Films will be judged and cash prizes will be awarded at a screening event in October. Kick-off is Saturday, Sept. 22, at 8:30 a.m. at CMAC. Register here
20. Caruthers District Fair
