You can’t escape it. This weekend is all about Motherhood. That’s not a bad thing either. Celebrating motherhood is like throwing a party for the most important person in your life – except that person also happens to be the one who plans the party, bakes the cake, and cleans up afterwards! But in all seriousness, being a mom is a tough job that deserves to be celebrated, right?
We’re going to have a little Mom styled fun with this Hot & Happening.
From the countless sleepless nights to the endless piles of laundry, moms have to deal with it all with a smile on their face (and maybe a little bit of caffeine). So, let’s raise a glass (or a sippy cup) to all the amazing moms out there who have kept us fed, clothed, and loved. You may not always get the recognition you deserve, but we see you, we appreciate you, and we love you. Here’s to celebrating motherhood in all its messy, chaotic, and beautiful glory!
Typically we would feature a single event here but this weekend is special. You know how we typically list a few random things to do below in the “Other Great Things To Do” in that section you usually skim below? This week we’ve hand picked each and every one of them just for Mom! Some or all may apply to your dearest. Let us know which do!
On Friday, the first thing you should do is get the kids to draw a picture of the family in front of the house. Snap a picture of it and send it to us. We’ll enter Mom for a chance to win one of two incredible gift baskets from locally owned businesses.

Next, you know how Mom has always wanted to to ride a Harley? Well, Fresno Harley Davidson is offering up FREE test rides! Get ready to feel the thrill of the open road! Starting this Friday, May 12th, Fresno Harley-Davidson is revving up Free Test Ride Days from May 12th – 21st.
Take a spin on the latest Harley-Davidson models and experience the ride of your life!
Next, ask her if she’s in the mood for a little comedy. She’ll naturally say yes, so ask if she wants to see a male or female performer. On Saturday, you are going to have to get a jump on the day. First off, get yourself down to the Sun Stereo Warehouse for the Fresno Flower Market. It’s running 8 am to noon (and no you can’t just make due with grocery store flowers). Don’t diddle dabble.
Get her the flowers she loves and then head to Fresno Humane for Paws in Bloom. It’s running from 11 am to 3 PM. Take your time here. You want to pick out just the perfect ball of floof. Nothing but the best will do.
Bring both home, water and feed both as well. Next you can head out to the Fresno World Fiddle Day. It runs from 12 to 4 PM and covers all styles of the 4 stringers. But what’s that you say? She’s much more of a Prince Fan? That’s great. You know of course that Prince played more than 27 instruments and the only instruments he didn’t play were Brass or Wind. Prince played the Fiddle (violin) – and you can see a fabulous Prince cover band starting at 5 PM over at ApCal. So fire up your little Red Corvette!
Wait! Don’t have a Little Red Corvette? Clovis has you covered. It’s the Clovis Old Town Motorama Car Show starting at 5:30 PM. We really think they missed the opportunity to call it the Clovis Old Town Motor-Mama Car Show – but we were never asked.
Sunday is going to arrive and she’ll have had two really great days, her favorite flowers are sitting by the bedside and puppy kisses in bed. What could be better?
