Today, on Giving Tuesday, I want to give you an opportunity to give back. First, let me back up to 9-1/2 weeks ago. I headed into the hospital for a scheduled c-section to give birth to twins after a great pregnancy. Due to complications from post-partum bleeding, I ended up back in the operating room to try and stop the bleeding. After a four hour surgery and 11 liters of fluid replacement I awoke in the ICU. Four days later I was released to go home.
Just a few weeks after being discharged I received a call from my cousin who had just been diagnosed with Leukemia. He has spent the last month in the hospital receiving treatment as well as blood transfusions to help get him into remission and well enough for a bone marrow transplant.
Because of generous blood donations from people like you, we are here. And we want to give back. My boss, Jason Farris, and our office FresYes Realty are going to be hosting a replacement blood and bone marrow drive this Saturday December 5th from 1pm to 4pm at the South-West corner of Palm and Nees. Please come by, say hi, save a life and give blood.
I love where I live, and I also love what I do. I'm lucky to be able to work in a profession in which I get to build relationships; one that has me meeting new people each and every day and helping them to build new lives in my beloved city. I'm lucky enough to work in a profession in which I can marry cutting-edge technologies and marketing techniques to good, old-fashioned, nose-to-the-grindstone work. I am lucky enough to work in a profession that allows me to work as an advocate for my clients; to use every tool at my disposal to get a job done well for them, and with as little stress and expense as possible.
I love my city. I love my job. One inspires my excellence for the other.
