Ah, the power of cookies. You can’t help but smile when you see them, and you can’t help but grab another after the first one (or three). Cookies simply make everything better, don’t they? That’s why full-time marketing professionals Alexandra Cetti and Jessica Najarian have absolutely no free time these days with Two Sisters cookies. When they’re not at their 9-5s, they’re busy bringing joy to businesses, parties and events through hand-decorated sugar cookies at Two Sisters Fresno.

Two Sisters Fresno. Alexandra and Jessica (A & J) have been best friends since the age of five. Now in their mid-20s, they’ve made hundreds of dozens of cookies for themselves after sleepovers and as gifts for friends and family. Last year, they established their business as a Cottage Food Operation, which through the California Homemade Food Act allows them to bake cookies at home and sell them to the public. Since then, they’ve been crazy busy with orders, loving every minute of it.
Now, about these gourmet sugar cookies.
The Taste. They call them “buttery goodness” and I can tell you from personal experience that I was pleasantly surprised when I bit into them, finding that they were not too sweet, with a soft texture and a slight crunch. I expected them to taste like Starbucks sugar cookies – great professional look with a decent taste. However, these were the best of both worlds: beautifully decorated, scrumptiously delicious.
The Designs. A & J will sketch out design ideas (unless a client gives complete design direction to match a party invitation), then brainstorm the shapes of the cookies. One will do the cutting and baking, the other will do the decorating. Every design is one-of-a-kind, usually matching a specific color palette or inspired by the occasion.
For the holidays, they’ve created “Tom,” the turkey platter and a poinsettia platter. These cookie specialties have been ordered in various sizes for hostess gifts at holiday parties, office gifts and more. If you really want to get their creative juices going, ask for something with a “Winter Wonderland” theme and they might leap for joy.
The Occasions. In addition to the holidays, A & J believe any and all occasions need cookies. Their most interesting projects, aside from their first big corporate order, have been bachelorette parties. Once they designed sugar cookies for a 50 Shades of Grey theme…though, they didn’t share those cookie photos with us (this is a family-friendly blog).
The Price. The average Two Sisters order is about two to three dozen cookies for $100, varying on size, shape, and detail. You can place your order by emailing TwoSistersFresno@yahoo.com.
If you are planning on ordering custom-designed sugar cookies for your special occasion, I’d recommend placing the order ASAP. As a side business, their capacity is limited. However, these girls do this for the love, so they will do their best to make your request happen. You can follow Two Sisters on Facebook and Instagram, or visit their website, TwoSistersCo.com.
By the way, A & J aren’t blood-related. They call themselves “soul sisters” because they feel like family and have been attached at the hip most of their lives. See, cookies bring everyone closer!
