Spotted: primo cocktails in Fresno and consistently delicious food (with an Italian flare). The Annex Kitchen, located in the old Pardini’s cafe on Van Ness and Shaw, opened about eight months ago and it’s definitely one of my new faves in town.
Whether you’re seated at the bar or dining at a communal table, the atmosphere at The Annex Kitchen is warm, modern, and simply a breath of fresh air to the local restaurant scene. It’s my go-to place for wood fired pizza and handcrafted pasta—but more importantly, for the purposes of this post—the bartenders know their stuff and are very happy to share their expertise.
General Manager Tom Medrano has a passion for the craft of cocktails. He moved back to Fresno recently from the San Jose bar scene, and has been perfecting his skills for the past 12 years. He was gracious enough to show me three of the Annex’s signature drinks: the Brachetto Bramble, the Crème Brûlée, and the Old Town.
Watch the videos below, then ask for them the next time you want to sip local goodness!
