Two new awards for their fine beers!
Our friends over at Amalgamation Brewing Company were recently recognized for some of their outstanding beers; here are the details.
The California Craft Brewers Cup (CCBC) announced their competition winners on September 28th at a ceremony in Sacramento, CA. Fresno-based brewery Amalgamation Brewing Company took home two medals, the only brewery in Fresno to do so at the competition. The CCBC is a California-only competition and touted as the state’s largest, with 191 Breweries participating and over 1200 beers. The competition started in 2019 between the state’s local brewers guilds and the California Craft Brewers Association.
Taking home a Gold Medal in Specialty IPA was Llamas In The Fog Vanilla Milkshake IPA. This IPA is brewed with milk sugar (lactose), Madagascar vanilla, and sabro hops. The sweetness and vanilla are the polar opposite of what is traditionally considered India Pale Ale, which is typically bitter and hop forward, making this a very unique brew.
Winning a Silver Medal was Amalgamation Brewing Company Red Ale in the American Amber/Red Category. Brewed with a strong malt bill and American hops, Amalgamation Red is a balanced brew that pours a deep red color and brings flavors of toffee, biscuit, and earthy hops.
Both beers are currently available at the brewery for onsite and offsite consumption.
