*2-1-15 to 2-12-15
Central suffered their first league loss on Saturday (2-6-15). Clovis West turned up the heat in their gym, defeating the Grizzlies 72-48. The Golden Eagles victory puts them in a tie at 6-1 in league (TRAC) play with three games remaining. Clovis West has quietly won 5 in a row, and if they win out, they will have a 20 win season. It appears that either Central or Clovis West will win the TRAC championship.
The Roosevelt Rough Riders recovered nicely after their loss to Fresno High. They won both of their games this week in blowouts, and have two more games coming up before their regular season final rematch with Fresno High. If they can get all the pieces together, they can knock off the Warriors after playing them once before. The North Yosemite League championship will likely be on the line that night. The big game is February 18th at Roosevelt High School; tip-off is at 6:30 pm.
The winning streak continues for Washington Union. They have now won 10 games in a row, and are a perfect 8-0 in league play. The panthers have two games left in the season, the last game being a very important matchup against The Liberty Hawks who are two games behind them in league standings. Washington Union has control of their destiny, and need one more win to clinch the North Sequoia League title.
Immanuel made it look easy on Wednesday night when they nearly put up 100 points on Selma. The Eagles have been impressive all year. The team is equipped with size, speed, and heart. I don’t see anyone stopping Immanuel at this point. They need one more win to clinch the Central Sequoia League title. Their next game is against Exeter on February 13th at 8:00 pm, the game will be at Exeter High School.
After suffering a loss to Fowler, Caruthers fell off the top ten. The Liberty Hawks will now represent division 5 in the FresYes top ten. Liberty has a three game winning streak and is looking to play catch up as they try and win the North Sequoia League title. Liberty’s next game will be on Friday the 13th against Kerman. The 8:00 pm tip-off is set to take place at Kerman High School.
