We know where you’ll be this Saturday – watching our Fresno State Bulldogs play in Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl, right?
Just in case, the game has a kickoff time of 12:30 P.M.
How does Jimmy Kimmel have a Bowl to begin with?
We were wondering too so we did some digging.
It turns out that back in June last year he announced on Twitter that he had become the title sponsor of the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl at SoFi Stadium. “Never before has a bowl game been named after a human being,”
Ok, that’s cool. Digging deeper it turns out that “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (the show) is not the sponsor and that it’s actually Jimmy Kimmel that bought the rights to the bowl. There’s a footnote – and that’s the “Presented by Stifel“, so maybe they paid for part or maybe all? We couldn’t find that answer.
Next, he came up with a Mascot…
And then he came up with a signature sandwich for the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl.
It’s a sandwich that starts with two nice thick slices of Ciabatta with melted Provolone. Then just add gobs of thin sliced Roast Beef, Italian Dressing, Tomato, Hot Peppers, Oregano, and a little black pepper.
Do we have to wait for the game? We’re hungry now! Apparently people at the game can buy the sandwich at one of the purveyors.
In case you missed the news…
Our Guys got to go to Jimmy Kimmel Live and meet Jimmy!
Here’s a video report on that!
