Well folks, if you’ve been waiting for your sign to wrap up your holiday shopping – consider this your official sign! The Christmas week is upon us, and we’re just a few days away from the big day.
If you love supporting local businesses like I do, you’re likely looking to purchase a few finals gifts from local makers and small shops – and we’re here to help make your planning easier with 5 fantastic places you can count on to satisfy your favorite gift recipients.

Do you have a plant lover in your life? If so, Let It Grow is the place to go! Owner Kelly Replogle is a great resource for choosing the perfect plant for your special person as she is super helpful and knowledgeable. She can help you choose a hardy plant for those new to houseplants, or a special, rare plant for those with a bit more experience. She can even help you select the perfect pot and repot it before you go. Bonus: Love books, too? The Book Bus, which began as a bus that sold a curated collection of books on location, is now housed in the front room of Let It Grow’s shop – so you can pick up a plant AND books on your visit!
Let It Grow is located at 529 E. Shields in Fresno. Check out their Instagram for inventory updates, flash sales and hours.

For the vintage collectible lover in your life, you’ll definitely want to shop Found Collective. Owner Juliann Love curates an amazing collection of vintage housewares, furniture, serving ware and even coats and gowns. She has a penchant for mid-century styles, though you’re also like to stumble upon awesome finds from the late 70s and early 80s, too. Brass candlesticks or gorgeous stemware would make a lovely gift! Her shop is located in the Tower District at 1535 E. Olive Suite 105. Check out their Instagram for latest merchandise and store hours.St. Joaquin
For the gamer or collector you love, Blue Shell Gaming has the largest collection of games, consoles, (both new and retro), collectibles, toys and cards in the Valley. They had three locations (Clovis, Madera and Fresno) with their Fresno store being located on Bullard and West in Northwest Fresno (in the Dutch Bros shopping center). If your favorite gamer has a retro console that no longer works, you could even surprise them by having it fixed, as Blue Shell Gaming offers repair services, too! Check out their website for additional information and store hours.

Got a boho & feminine style lover on your shopping list? The Shop at KLSD would be the perfect place to shop. From gorgeous skirts and flowy sweaters and cardigans to dangling earrings, art deco hair pins, and wood and ceramic housewares, KLSD takes Anthropologie’s vibe at puts it in an adorable boutique located in the Peerless Building in Downtown Fresno. They even have curated gift guides like this one on their Instagram account to help you! The shop is located at 1755 Broadway and open Wednesday – Friday from 11-6, and Saturdays from 10-4.

Just a hop skip and jump away from The Shop @ KLSD, also in the Peerless building you’ll find Fresno’s source for natural wines if you need the perfect hostess gift or to choose a special bottle for the wine connoisseur on your list. And, as an added bonus, while you’re there you can enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of coffee (a new addition at St. Joaquin!) and even a pastry by Chef Matthew (who also provides the cuisine for Quail State Roof Top Bar, which is owned by the same folks at St. Joaquin).
We hope you’ll find this list helpful, and that you’ll considering shopping local this holiday season! Happy shopping!
