As your resident makeup junkie here in FresYes land, every so often I feel it’s my duty to inform you of awesome beauty products I come across – particularly those that are friendly to almost everyone’s budget and makeup skill level. I have five recent fantastic finds (all around $10 or less) that everyone from high school students to busy moms on the go can enjoy.
Fab find #1:
L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24 Hour Liquid Foundation
If you like full coverage that blends easily and truly wears all day – this is going to be your new “ride or die” liquid foundation. (Ride or die is the phrase all the cool kids are saying I hear, so I’m trying it – is it working for me? Nah. I didn’t think so either.) Whatever. This foundation has been my go to for the last 6 weeks, even winning out over my ten-year-love-affair with Estee Lauder Double Wear. I love the packaging on the Infallible foundation too – an easy squeeze tube that gives you total control and keeps cooties out of the container. If you snag this product on sale (watch for L’Oreal sales at Target, Walgreens and CVS) I bet you can get it for under $10 too. Seeing as this foundation preforms as well as (if not better than) high-end competitors, even if you pay full price (around $12) you’re still getting a steal. (P.S. if you want makeup that’s not going to sweat off come August, you’re going to love this stuff!)
Fab find #2:
L’Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Amber Rush
GAH. This color is so very pretty – I almost don’t know how to describe it. It’s like rose gold and bronze got married and had a beautiful eye shadow baby, and that baby made everyone’s eyes look like they’d been kissed by sunshine and unicorns. You can easily use just this color all over the lid and skip fussing with other shades. Also, though it is a loose pigment, there is this awesome little damper inside the container that presses the powder down and saves you from making a big mess. (Another packaging win for L’Oreal!)
Fab find #3:
Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes
Great Lash itself is constantly winning beauty awards and getting praise for being a long-time drug store standout among mascaras. Though I think Great Lash is, well, pretty great – I think the Lots of Lashes formula and brush and fantastic. The tapered brush allows you to really get those hard to reach corner lashes and fan out each little hair giving you full, yet well-defined lashes. The brush also makes it easy to hit the bottom lashes and not make a mess on your lower lid.
Fab find #4:
E.L.F.’s Small Stipple Brush
This brush is so incredibly soft and it’s duo fiber bristles allow you to really control the application of whatever product you’re using it for. I like to use it for highlighters or blushes that can easily get overdone, but that I like, to keep them soft on the cheeks, yet noticable. You could also use it for bronzer or cream blushes or highlighters. This brush is just $3, but I find myself using it all the time, and even after many, many washes its held up really well. It’s definitely worth picking up.
Fab find #5:
Milani Powder Blush in Romantic Rose
This shade may not look like much in the package, but on the skin it’s just a perfect rose shade that makes you look healthy and glowy without looking overdone. The blush is completely matte, so if you don’t like shimmer in your blush, you’re taken care of. And the amount of product you get is very generous compared to other, much pricier blushes which offer completely comparable wear and performance. This is a great staple swipe-and-go shade and formula I think you’ll love.
So those are my five current faves when it comes to bargain, drugstore beauty products – now your turn, what are yours? I love trying things other people recommend! 🙂
