Located in the former Pardini’s café space next to Annex Kitchen, The Red Room held its soft opening last weekend and officially opened to the public this week. Situated in Northwest Fresno on Shaw and Van Ness at 2257 W. Shaw Ave, The Red Room brings a new and unique atmosphere to bar scene in this part of town. In this article, we’ll share with you all you can expect when you stop in for a first visit!
Location and Aesthetic
The Red Room boasts a distinctive ambiance that sets it apart. As you enter, you’ll be greeted by a warmly lit bar area with a checkered tile floor. The modern yet comfortable green barstools invite you to take a seat and explore the menu. Mirrored shelves showcase an extensive selection of liquors, catering to all tastes.

The pièce de résistance is the Red Room itself located just in front of the bar, a dark and moody red lounge furnished with red velvet tapestries, vintage lamps, marble cocktail tables, and plush velvet seating. A striking red fireplace and occasion seating serves as the room’s focal point, adding to the overall atmosphere.

Menu
The Red Room’s menu is a mix of classic and inventive cocktails. House cocktails include favorites like the Hibiscus Margarita, Old Fashioned, Corpse Reviver, Green Apple Fizz, Sazerac Switch, Blood Orange Cosmo, Isle of Amaro, and Negroni’s Paradise. For movie buffs, there’s a fun section titled “At the Drive In” featuring signature drinks inspired by popular films. Try the Rickey Bobby, a twist on a blueberry bourbon smash, or the Life Finds a Way, a fruity and tropical cocktail with a playful dinosaur frozen into the ice cube. The menu also offers a substantial selection of beer and wine by the glass.

Pricing
When it comes to pricing, The Red Room falls within the mid-range category, with most cocktails priced between $13 and $16 each. This pricing provides a balance between quality and affordability, making it accessible for a range of guests.

Hours of Operation
The Red Room is open to the public on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5 pm to 11 pm, and on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 pm to 12 am, making it a great spot for both mid-week relaxation and weekend revelry. The space is also available for bookings for private events (which may affect their normal operation schedule too, so its wise to check their social media for updates before you go).
Staff and Service
The attentive staff at The Red Room is sharply dressed and offers a warm and professional level of service. They go the extra mile to ensure your experience is enjoyable. During our visit, we received a complimentary sample of spiced nuts, and they even offered to assist with a unique task—to melt the ice cube containing a toy dinosaur from my novelty cocktail, so it could be easily taken home after enjoying the drink.

Clientele
The Red Room seems to attract a diverse crowd, appealing to people of various ages. When we visited, many fellow guests were with friends, though there were also several couples on dates as well. Dress code ranges from casual to cocktail attire as well, accommodating various preferences.
Music and Entertainment
The Red Room offers a balanced ambiance, with music playing in the background at a volume that allows for easy conversation. You can comfortably enjoy your evening without feeling overwhelmed by loud music.
In conclusion, The Red Room offers a unique and stylish addition to Northwest Fresno’s nightlife — make plans to give it a try and let us know what you think if you check it out!
