Simply Soothing, of Old Town Clovis fame, is a locally-owned and operated wellness spa that just opened the doors to its second location in Northwest Fresno. Simply Soothing prides itself in offering high-quality wellness services with the benefits of a large corporate spa, but with the personal attention and care of a small, local business.
I had the opportunity to visit Simply Soothing during their opening week and take a tour of the spa. If you’re heavily into fitness and regularly pushing your body to the max, or if you’re someone who’s stressed or dealing with nagging pain and you’ve been looking for a solution, I think you’ll love Simply Soothing.

Services Offered at Simply Soothing:
Services offered include massage therapy, cryotherapy, and oxygen therapy via hyperbaric chamber. While most are families with massage therapy, cryotherapy and hyperbaric chamber therapy may be new to many.
Cryotherapy consists of being exposed to extremely cold temperatures for a short period of time, while standing in chamber or stall. The cryotherapy treatment room at Simply Soothing allows you to keep your head above the cold while you’re standing inside, and your feet and hands are wrapped to keep them safe during the extreme temperature exposure. Temperatures vary from -20 degrees all the way down to -300 degrees Fahrenheit, and the exposure lasts for three minutes. Benefits of this treatment are similar to what you might expect from being able to apply an ice pack to the entire body: reduced inflammation, relief from pain, and an ease in swelling. It can be especially helpful in reducing pain and discomfort for those with nerve disorders or arthritis. Some studies also show benefits for mood disorders like depression and anxiety, as the exposure to extreme cold can positively effect endorphins and energy levels.
Oxygen therapy via hyperbaric chamber consists of lying in a small chamber that pressurizes with pure oxygen (similar to how an airplane cabin does for flights) and you relax in that pressurized space for one hour. This therapy helps with a wide variety of body functions as it increases the body’s supply of oxygen in the blood. Benefits include: boosting the immune system, improved healing of muscle tissue, aid in the production of new blood vessels being formed, and the reduction of both pain and swelling.

Massage therapy at Simply Soothing consists of either Swedish or Deep Tissue Massage, with a wide variety of optional add-on services such as hot stone therapy, soothing and pain relieving CBD oil, Himalayan salt stone therapy, aromatherapy, scalp massage and more. On my visit to Simply Soothing I was able to enjoy a massage with their therapist, Brittanie, and she did a fantastic job focusing on the areas I had the most tension in, and ensuring my massage time was used to best address my needs. One thing I really like about Simply Soothing is that you can book a 30, 45, 60 or 90 minute massage. Sometimes I can find it tricky to fit a massage into my budget, but with the 30 and 45 minute options, it’s a bit more affordable, so I’m likely to go more often, which I know my neck and shoulders will really benefit from. The spa also offers 1-hour massage therapy packs in bundles of 3 or 6 at a discounted price. The 6 pack can be split with another person as well.
Whether you’re a serious athlete or a person who is just looking for some relief from life’s aches, pains, and stress – I think you’ll really like Simply Soothing located on the north side of the GB3 shopping center on Palm & Nees. You can book your appointment easily online here. (And, if you’re someone who rarely treats yourself to things like a wellness spa appointment, and you’ve been waiting for a sign – this is your sign to do it!) 😉
