If you’ve read my blogs for any length of time, you’ll know that I’m a sucker for a good designer name. And you know I wrestle with the two loves in my life – buying designer and shopping local – because they usually don’t go hand in hand. That’s why I’ve always liked designer resale shop Tsu Tsu Boutique. And I’m happy to report that Tsu Tsu Boutique has undergone some recent changes that make it better than ever.
Osry Tsudama founded the designer resale store in the Tower District in 2012. She then opened a second shop in Old Town Clovis and eventually closed the Tower District location. A few months ago (after having super adorable twin girls), Tsudama passed the shop on to her nephew, Jorden Adiwinata, and his wife, Jade. The couple took what was already great and made it even more awesome.
The goal, Jade told me, was to give the shop the feel of Old Town and a selection that would appeal to the clientele that shops in the area. The most noticeable difference to my label-loving self is that the boutique has started to buy items from a resale company in addition to getting items from customers, which means they carry more high-end designer items that are nearly new or new with tags, sold at discounted prices. If you follow Tsu Tsu Boutique on Instagram, Jade keeps customers updated on all the goodies that are coming in. Fabulous names that have been in stock in recent days include Tory Burch, Gucci, YSL, Fendi, Christian Louboutin, Michael Kors and Coach.
To help showcase the beautiful new items, the Adiwinatas closed the shop for a time to renovate the space, which now has more space, more dressing rooms, comfy chairs to try on shoes and a glass display counter holding their most high-end purses, including several gorgeous Louis Vuitton bags that I was totally drooling over. (There is no other place in town that I can think of that sells Louis, new or used. If you can afford to shop in this price range, this is it for shopping local!)
Tsu Tsu Boutique already sells its clothes, shoes and accessories at discounted prices, but the deals are even better right now. To celebrate April being Autism Awareness Month, everything in the store is 15% off, and a special wheel has been placed in the corner. A $2 donation gets customers a raffle ticket to win a Coach, Dooney & Bourke or Michael Kors purse, and a spin on the wheel, where they can get everything from an extra raffle ticket to a $50 gift card or 50% off their purchase.
If you’d like to sell your gently-used designer items to Tsu Tsu Boutique, you can call Jade at 559-322-1550 to make an appointment. She has also started a consignment program for purses. For shopping, store hours vary due to Jade’s job as a hospital lab technician. She posts her hours faithfully on Instagram and Facebook each day. Tsu Tsu Boutique is located at 438 Pollasky Ave., next door to Educational Employees Credit Union. You can also buy some of the designer purses in an online store.
