Fresno Chaffee Zoo Debuts New Holiday Experience: Illuminature

The Fresno Chaffee Zoo is always a special place to visit for Valley residents and their families, and though the temperatures drop through the holiday season, it doesn’t slow crowds from enjoying the Zoo, especially with the addition of annual events like the very popular Zoo Lights, which the Zoo has hosted for numerous years, featuring hundreds and thousands of lights, holiday scenes and decor, and photo setups for families to enjoy during the winter evenings. This year, the Fresno Chaffee Zoo has announced the debut of an exciting new holiday event: Illuminature.

Illuminature is described as a cultural spectacular featuring handmade Chinese lantern displays illuminated throughout the Zoo. The lanterns are shaped like life-sized animals, plants, flowers, and other elements from nature, and they are lit from within and glow beautifully at night. Illuminature is offered as a special event that takes place after the Zoo’s regular daytime hours end. Tickets can be purchased online in advance for entrance times of either 5pm or 7pm nightly.

Event dates are:

• November 18-23, 25-27
• December 1-4, 8-11, 14-23, 26-30
• January 5-8, 13-15, 21-22

Special holiday-themed food and drinks, live music and entertainment, and photos with Santa will be offered November 25th through December 3rd.

Tickets for the event are in limited supply nightly, and the event is expected to sell out, so advance purchase is highly recommended. Ticket prices are $20 for Zoo Member Adults, $22 for Non-Member Adults, and $18 per child, ages 2-11, there is no cost for children under 2.
