This weekend is Easter, so if you’re looking for a spot to gather eggs filled with candy, look no further. I’ve compiled a handy list of places to hunt for Easter eggs.
Grab your basket and your best bonnet and see what those confused bunnies have left you!
3rd Annual People’s Church Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt
If you believe in going big or going home, you’ll have to check out the People’s Church egg hunt. This event is the largest egg hunt in the Valley (with about 250,000 eggs, they’re not messing around).
Head over to the People’s Church campus at 7172 N. Cedar Ave. for an epic egg hunt for ages 0-12. Here you’ll also find bounce houses, food, and the Easter bunny! Check out this free event on Saturday, April 15, from 9-11 a.m.
An Old-Fashioned Easter Egg Hunt
Pre-registration for this event is required (tickets are $4 per child for members or $6 for non-members). This hunt happens Sunday, April 16 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the River Center grounds located at 11605 Old Friant Road. Tickets can be purchased here and you can check out their Facebook event page here.
Storyland Easter Egg Hunt
Hippity-hop your way to Storyland this weekend for egg-citing fun. Aside from magic shows and story time with Mother Goose, there are several egg hunts throughout the day.
This event is free with admission and egg hunts are divided by age group. Be sure to check out their Facebook event page to see more details. If you haven’t seen Storyland since its remodel, you need to! Storyland Easter events are on Saturday and Sunday, April 15-16, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Earth Day Easter Eggstravaganza in Kerman
Even though some cities (cough, Clovis, cough) have held Easter Egg hunts early, Kerman keeps it traditional with an egg hunt on Saturday. Head over to Lions Park at California and Park avenues from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for this free event.
There will be face painting and pictures with the Easter Bunny. The egg hunts will be divided into age groups, so check out the event page here to learn more.
As an additional bonus, there will be free e-waste recycling and a community wide trash pick up in honor of Earth Day. Apparently, this is what happens when Earth Day and Easter collide: hunt for eggs, then throw away your garbage!
Bass Lake Egg Hunt
The Pines Resort is sponsoring an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 15, from noon. to 2 p.m. This event is free to all and includes crafts, bunny pictures, and family activities. Bring your own basket to gather your eggs (ages 12 and under).
Enjoy the mountain air as you hunt for eggs at 54432 Road 432, Bass Lake, California 93604. Afterwards, you can check out some of these FresYes-recommended hiking trails!
Sanger Glows in the Dark
Since I talked about Kerman, I think it’s only fair to mention Sanger, right? The Glow-in-the-Dark Easter Egg Hunt and Movie is hosted by Grace Community Church Sanger. On Friday, April 14, at 7 p.m. you can take your lawn chair and claim your spot for the outdoor movie.
Head to the park at Holt and Greenwood and bring a bag for treats. The egg hunt starts at 7:45 p.m. and the movie will begin shortly afterward. If you want more information, here’s the Facebook event page!
The Golden Hunt
Does your child love eggs AND bling? Then the Golden Egg Hunt is a perfect fit. Registration starts at 10 a.m. and closes at 10:45 (you must be registered to participate).
Happily (or “hoppily”?), each registered child will receive a golden egg and a wristband. Later, they may exchange the ticket inside their golden egg for a prize. Also included in this event? Free Easter photos and lots of raffle prizes. It’s all free courtesy of The Church At The Southgate, so check out the event page here for more information and head to 7249 E. Kings Canyon Road on Saturday, April 15 to participate.
Egg Hunt at Engelmann Cellars
If you like wine AND Easter eggs, check out the Engelmann Cellars egg hunt on Saturday, April 15. Tickets must be purchased in advance for the hunt, and there are only 100 spots available!
Here’s the link, so hop on over there to save your spot! If your child is participating, be sure to grab your camera for photos with the elusive Easter bunny. This egg hunt is for kids under ten and it starts at 1 p.m. However, wine tasting is available all day (tastings are $5 and wine by the glass starts at $8).
Even though you’ve got to pay to hunt, admission is free. Enjoy live music until 4 p.m., and giant Jenga and cornhole while you sip wine and watch the sunset. For more details, check out the Facebook event page here.
