Walk, Run, Live.
That’s the motto of Sole 2 Soul owners Jill and Scott Newton who have created more than just a shoe store but a lifestyle location.
What started out as a hobby for the couple to enjoy together has in just a few short years turned into 3 successful stores in Visalia, Bakersfield and one right here in FresYes located in River Park. So successful in fact competitor.com voted Sole 2 Soul one of the 50 top running specialty stores in the United States for 2014 and the ONLY one in California to receive the honor. The Newton’s are more than just business owners but real runners who love what they do so much that you cannot help but become infected by their enthusiasm. Both childhood friends and schoolmates from our Dinuba days fill my Facebook feed with stories and photo’s from a Marathon here, Ultra there, Family runs ect, ect, ect.
This week my daughter and I stopped into the River Park location to do some research and also so I could see if there was anything she liked that just may end up under our tree in about 11 days. After finding a number of things I wanted for myself from some new kicks to the newest Garmin I remembered why I was there and got Erin to show me around and point out the things the 14 year old runner must have this holiday season. Ever the teenage girl she went straight to the clothes, then the bling and only when prodded gave a glance to the shoes.
The staff of experts are at the ready to help with whatever the need but ask for help with shoes and watch the magic happen. With just a few basic questions on what your needs are you will be laced up and directed to a tread mill to start steppin ……….that’s not all though. As an added bonus they have the latest technology using iStep foot mapping and video analysis to get you the right shoe the first time. Gone are the days of buying the shoe your friend likes or worse yet what the salesman who doesn’t run thinks you should wear but the perfect shoe just for you. That’s just one of the differences that makes Sole 2 Soul a top 50 store and we get to enjoy it right here in FresYes.
Now that you have the skinny on running store I think the only thing left to do is to Walk, Run, Live.

Wow I didn’t know that was a more local store. I see it all the time. Really cool how they find the perfect shoe for someone.

I didn’t know they were local to the valley either! Good to know.

Probably the only place that has a treadmill to test your footing on. Why don’t more places do that?
