I’m sure y’all have discovered by now that I love supporting local businesses. I understand that there are times when you (I) need to shop at a big store (I heart you Target), but when possible, I would rather spend my money at a locally owned business.
This leads me to a new place opening in a few weeks. Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa will be opening a new place to “love thyself for less.” Kind of catchy, huh? đ Anyway, a friend of mine told me about this new business a couple of months back. Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa will be opening in Riverpark on March 14th. It will be located next to the Yard House, in between there and Rubio’s. They will be offering massage, facial, and hair removal services. The idea behind Hand & Stone is to provide “the very highest quality massage and facial services at affordable prices.” So, you could walk in on any given day, request a massage, and still have money left over to have dinner and see a movie, AND have the ambiance be that of a million dollar spa. Okay, maybe a half a million dollar spa. đ
I realize that this may sound like I’m just promoting a new business that I know nothing about. Not true. I know a thing or two about massages, because I LOVE them. I’ve had many, and have been to many places that range in prices. I’ve had good massages, and very, very bad ones. Of course I haven’t had a massage from Hand & Stone yet, but what makes this place stand out to me is one of the owners.
I really like to connect many of my articles to the people of FresYes. Who are the people who run the business? How do they connect with the community? Often times once I meet someone I make a connection with, I instantly know I want to write about whatever it is they do. This happened with one of the co-owners of Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa. I initially wanted to just share about a new place in Riverpark. However, once I started talking to Robin Prideaux, I knew that it was more than just a new business. Robin has a passion for this business and truly wants to bring something special to Fresno.
Robin and LeeAnn Prideaux are co-owners of Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa. Robin retired from a 31 year career with a company that he truly respected and enjoyed working for. You can see Philip Naiman Physiotherapy website to check the company he worked for. It was (is) a great company, but Robin wanted a change. It’s not that he was unhappy, he just wanted to do something different. As they were searching for businesses, LeeAnn came across the idea of a massage/spa. This was perfect for them! Think about it, what better business to invest in, right? I’m guessing people walk in feeling one way, but walk out feeling amazing! Now that’s the kind of place where I’d want to work-the place that makes people happy! Robin wants this for his customers and employees. Robin is truly a stand up guy, with a great personality. I enjoyed speaking with him, and I know that he will make Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa a place of refuge and comfort. The best part of this new business? 18 jobs were created!
