Fresno State to Celebrate Ag Fest
Fall in the Central Valley means the return of Fresno State Football! The Dogs kicked off the 2016 season on the road in Nebraska. They played in front of a crowd of over 90 thousand… nearly the population of Clovis. Nebraska’s fans are known for selling out their stadium in good years and bad.
Fresno State’s Bulldog Stadium seats 41,031. Wouldn’t it be awesome if it was sold out each and every game?! I’ve been attending Bulldog games since elementary school. It’s one of my favorite childhood memories. I used to go to the games with my grandparents. I look forward to the day when I have children and can pass my love for Fresno State on to them.
Former Fresno State Head Coach Jim Sweeney, who the field is named after, famously said, “Bulldog Born, Bulldog Bred and I’m going to be a Bulldog until the day I’m dead.” That moto is definitely true for me.
It is very important for our community to support Fresno State Football. Not only is it good for the university’s economy, it is also good for Fresno and the surrounding area. Purchasing a t-shirt to wear to the game, dining at a restaurant before kick-off, post-game celebratory drinks… this all brings money to our local economy.
Fresno State is constantly evolving the game day experience. There is a new sound system this year and each home game will have a theme. Saturday’s game against Tulsa will celebrate the Central Valley’s agriculture community.
Discounted tickets are available with a portion of all proceeds benefiting The Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences & Technology. For $26 you will receive a ticket for the game in the special “FFA” section and a “My Dogs Depend on Ag” sticker. For more information on this special offer contact Aaron Johnson at 559-278-1688. There is also a group ticket rate available.
Fans can begin tailgating four hours before kick-off. Kick-off for Saturday’s game is 1:30 P.M. For a mid-morning tailgate I recommend a tasty breakfast casserole. Below you will find an egg dish recipe that is easy to make and is always a hit with my family and friends.
