Calling all movie fans!
For two nights only, Fresno Filmworks will present the 2018 Oscar-Nominated Short Films at the historic Tower Theatre.
On Friday and Saturday, Feb. 9 and 10, Filmworks will feature five full programs of short films that are competing this year for an Academy Award—just weeks before the winners are announced.
Friday’s programs are: live action shorts at 5:30 p.m. and animated shorts at 8:30 p.m.
Saturday’s programs are: animated shorts at 1 p.m., live action shorts at 4 p.m., and documentary shorts at 7 p.m.
In addition to the world-class films, this year’s event will again feature an Oscar-themed photo booth. Audience members will get a chance to share their night at the Oscars by showing off their outfits on the red carpet and making photo booth pictures, with Hollywood-style props available.
Tickets to single programs cost $10 general admission and $8 for students and seniors. A special $15 double-feature ticket is available for any two programs. You can find more ticket information here.
This marks the 13th straight year that Filmworks has brought the world’s best short-form cinema to central San Joaquin Valley audiences. Linda Knight, Filmworks co-president, says: “Every year, the quality and the diversity of the Oscar shorts programs somehow gets better and better. We can’t wait to share these inspiring selections with the community.”
