There was quite a bit of chatter last week when Alton Brown, TV star from “Good Eats” ate his way through Fresno while in town for “Alton Brown Live! The Edible Inevitable Tour.” He stopped at six restaurants and tweeted about most of them along the way. It made me wonder how he found out about restaurants in town. Did his team google “Best Fresno Restaurant“? Did he listen to tweets like this?

For those of you not familiar with Alton Brown, he’s kind of like the Bill Nye the Science Guy for food. His zany live show, complete with puppets, humor and good family fun has drawn crowds around the country, both to see him live and to pay attention to where he eats in each city. So, where did he end up in Fresno?
- Kuppa Joy Coffee House
- Cafe Corazon
- Batter Up Pancakes
- The Chicken Pie Shop
- Dusty Buns
- Dog House Grill

You can read his comments about each spot here. What do you think about his choices? Good? Representative of Fresno? Are they your faves?
Speaking of faves, did you read the Valley’s Best Places to Eat, Drink from the Best of the Valley Restaurants awards? I try to keep it positive here on FresYes, but…uh…I’m not a fan of listing chain restaurants like In-N-Out (the best burger in town? really?) and The Old Spaghetti Factory as the best in our area. We can do better than that.
ANYWAY, I’ll leave you with this grilled grilled cheese creation by Alton Brown. Watch and drool:

- Introducing One Sense, the Latest Thing in Tech - October 8, 2015

That Valley Best list was a joke. Best burger? The Beerrock Shop. Best Tritip (should totally be a category) Mike Grill. Best Mexican – Sals. Best Breakfast – Sandy’s (albeit in Clovis), Best Asian is Sakura Chaya. It’s like they didn’t even try to find anything original and instead asked ‘Hey whats on the main drag that we can put on this list?’ Sheesh.
