The Central California Women’s Conference (CCWC) has awarded grants totaling $100,000 to 81 local non-profits serving women and children. Recipients were recognized today at CCWC’s Community Celebration Reception.
A call for grant applications was made in January of this year. To date, CCWC has donated $1,000,000 to Valley non-profits, which has benefited recipients by providing an array of services ranging from mammograms to food, shelter, clothing, education, and more. (See the list of 2018 recipients here.)
The Central California Women’s Conference also gives to the community via its annual CCWC/Wells Fargo College Preparatory Scholarship Program, which awards twenty scholarships to recipients who are selected by their school counselors based on need, goals and potential.
In addition, CCWC partners with AT&T and the Central California Educational Opportunity Center to assist individuals throughout the Valley re-enroll and finish their college degrees, and with PG&E to award the “She Makes a Difference” $5,000 grant.
Now in its 31st year, more than 90,400 women have attended the Central California Women’s Conference since its inception. This year’s event will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 25. Tickets go on sale in early June at ccwc-fresno.org.
