As we all know, The Big Fresno Fair is BIG on entertainment. There’s a wide variety of artists headed to the fair this year to take part in the Table Mountain Concert Series at The Paul Paul Theater.
Tickets are on sale now for these shows. They can be purchased online, by phone at (559) 650-FAIR, and in person at the Fresno Fairgrounds Administration Ticket Box Office. The box office is located at 1121 S. Chance Ave. and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Here’s a look at the 2017 Big Fresno Fair line-up. The fair runs Oct. 4—15.
Chris Young
When: Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m.
Price: $33-$38
This is a big get for the Big Fresno Fair. Young is an award-winning country singer and songwriter. His latest studio album, Losing Sleep, is set to be released October 20. With hits like “Tomorrow” and “I’m Comin’ Over,” fans (myself included) are no doubt excited about this concert. Young has played Fresno before; he was the opening act for Miranda Lambert in 2013 at the Save Mart Center.
Kingdom Come: A Night of Music & Ministry
When: Thursday, Oct. 5 at 6:30 p.m.
Price: $15-$95 (includes fair admission)
Headliner Jeremy Camp will be joined by Big Daddy Weave, We are Messengers, and Micah Tyler for a special Christian Music Fest. “We are thrilled to have partnered with Transparent Productions to bring this great line-up to our concert series for our Christian music fans,” says John C. Alkire, CEO of The Big Fresno Fair. “This will be a great night of musical entertainment and worship for families to come out and enjoy.”
Chicago
When: Friday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.
Price: $45, $65, $70
Talk about a big name! The legendary rock and roll band, Chicago, will no doubt be a sellout. They’ll play classics like “25 or 6 to 4” and “Beginnings.”
“We always strive to be a little bigger and a little better every year and bringing Chicago to our Fair in October is definitely something a little bigger and better,” says Alkire.
USA Boxing Sanctioned Big Fresno Fair Boxing Championships
When: Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m.
Price: General admission is free, reserved seats start at $15
It’s boxing not music that will take center stage the first Saturday night of the fair. They’ve partnered with Southeast Fresno Boxing Club to bring a USA Boxing sanctioned event to the Paul Paul Theater featuring USA Boxing fighters from across the United Sates.
“We are excited to bring this event to the Big Fresno Fair; it will feature some of the best fighters in the nation and world,” says Mike Hodgins, owner of Southeast Fresno Boxing Club. “It will really be something new and exciting for Fairgoers to enjoy.”
Larry Hernandez
When: Sunday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m.
Price: $15-$50
The Latin music star will entertain crowds during his Sunday night concert. Hernandez isn’t just a singer and songwriter, he’s also a TV personality who starred on “Larrymania” on Mun2 (NBC Universo) in 2012.
Goo Goo Dolls
When: Monday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.
Price: $43-$48
It’s a 90s flashback! The Goo Goo Dolls have had 14 number-one hits, including “Name,” “Slide,” “Here is Gone,” and “Stay with You.” Their most-known song “Iris” from the City of Angels soundtrack spent nearly a year on the Billboard charts.
Ice Cube
When: Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.
Price: $35 & $45
The 90s theme continues with this well-known rapper, actor, and director. From his early days as a member of N.W.A. to big screen hits like “Barbershop” and “Are We There Yet” there’s no denying Ice Cube is a star.
Granger Smith feat. Earl Dibbles, Jr. & Jackson Michelson
When: Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.
Price: $15-$20
Country music fans won’t want to miss this show. With songs like his 2016 hit “Backroad Song,” Granger Smith is one of country’s rising stars.
Brian Wilson Presents “Pet Sounds” – The Final Performances
When: Thursday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m.
Price: 33-$42
The Beach Boys star returns to The Big Fresno Fair with special guests Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin. In addition to his live performance of “Pet Sounds,” Wilson will play hits from his 54-plus-year career.
Gabriel Iglesias (“Fluffy”)
When: Friday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m.
Price: $35-$45
After taking a personal break, funny man Gabriel Iglesias, better known as “Fluffy,” is back to performing his stand-up routine. This is his fifth year performing at The Big Fresno Fair. The four previous shows have sold out!
Ja Rule & Ashanti
When: Saturday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.
Price: 17-$25
It’s your chance to see one of R&B’s favorite duos. They’ll perform some of their biggest hits together like “Always On Time,” “Mesmerize,” “What’s Love” and “Happy” along with their individual hits.
Ramon Ayala
When: Sunday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.
Price: $15-$50
At 71 years young, the “King of the Accordion” continues to entertain crowds with his Norteño and Conjunto music. The Mexican musician has over 113 albums and four Grammy Awards. He’s also starred in over a dozen movies. He’s one of a kind!
