After what has surely been a long summer (The Fresno Fair opened up to triple digits!) it has finally cooled off in our beloved valley. Jeans, sweatshirts, Café Corazon coffee in the early morning while wrapped in the quilt my grandmother made when I was just a kid. I love everything about the fall season except going places in the fog. As a result I find myself on my computer reading local blogs a lot more regularly than normal. Over the years I have put together what I feel is the must list for local internet readings, today I’m sharing with you a handful of my favorites & notables. So before the fog burns off, grab your favorite blanket, get to reading LOCAL 🙂
http://fresnobeehive .com – Pop culture, Entertainment, & all things Fresno – A product of the Fresno Bee, this is easily my most frequented local website.
http://fresnofamous.com – News, opinion, and information – In addition to a local team of writers, the site also allows users to create an account and contribute their own stories, images, and blog post
Downtown Fresno Partnership
http://downtownfresno.org – News & information strictly focused on downtown Fresno – Did you know Downtown Fresno just got an ice skating rink?!
Gotta Love Fresno
http://gottalovefresno.com – video-on-demand initiative by Fresnans, for Fresnans, and about Fresno – Have you seen all back in forth banter between Conan O’Brien and local Fresnans?
I Bike Fresno
http://ibikefresno.org – The hub of all things biking in Fresno County – Last November there were over 8 community riding events… get out of the spin class an on to the road.
http://www.weirdfresno.com/ – Tales of the weird and strange that lurk in the shadows of Fresno – Ever thought your home was haunted? This is the site to read up on and contact!
Dead in 60 Years
http://deadin60years.com – Culture, people, events – Another fun and creative local site to not miss!
The Full Moxie
http://thefullmoxie.com – A new comer (site wise) to the local scene, headed up by some serious local creative talent. It’s written by women for women but guys, trust me… you will be a dedicated closet reader after just your first peak
Did all that coffee make you hungry? Me too! Check out my three favorite local food blog:
- Fresno Bites – http://fresnobites.wordpress.com
- Fresno Flavor – http://fresnoflavor.com
- Taste Fresno – http://tastefresno.com
Do you have some favorite local blogs? I’d love to hear what they are!
I love where I live, and I also love what I do. I'm lucky to be able to work in a profession in which I get to build relationships; one that has me meeting new people each and every day and helping them to build new lives in my beloved city. I'm lucky enough to work in a profession in which I can marry cutting-edge technologies and marketing techniques to good, old-fashioned, nose-to-the-grindstone work. I am lucky enough to work in a profession that allows me to work as an advocate for my clients; to use every tool at my disposal to get a job done well for them, and with as little stress and expense as possible.
I love my city. I love my job. One inspires my excellence for the other.
