Last September, FresYes writer Joanne wrote about a special dog at Valley Animal Center. His name is Dexter and at the time Joanne wrote the post, he’d been living at the center for over three years—the longest-running resident the shelter had. Despite being a happy dog and cute as hell, Dexter’s separation anxiety, high energy, and age (8 years old) kept him in and out of foster homes.
This week, though, we got word that something great had happened: Dexter was finally adopted.
Valley Animal Center posted the amazing news Saturday, and we couldn’t be happier. It seems Dexter has found a family who can handle his needs, including having someone home with him all day. We wish Dexter all the best with his new family!
