The keynote speaker at this year’s Central California Women’s Conference is guaranteed to be a big draw. Maria Shriver will be in Fresno for the Tuesday, Sept. 25 event at the Fresno Convention and Entertainment Center.
Tickets for the largest women’s event in our region are already on sale.
Shriver has many titles to her name. The former First Lady of California is a mother of four, an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning journalist, a bestselling author, and an advocate for women. She is the founder of Shriver Media and The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement. Her new book is I’ve Been Thinking… Reflections, Prayers and Meditations for a Meaningful Life.
“I’ve always enjoyed my time in Fresno and I look forward to returning there on Sept. 25,” said Shriver. “I’m pleased that I will get to engage with so many women in the Central Valley who are seeking to make a difference in their lives, in their community, and in the world.”
As the niece of former president John F. Kennedy and former wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Shriver has had a very interesting life.
“We are using a special Q&A format for the luncheon this year so attendees will get new insight into Maria’s life-changing ideas,” said Nene Casares, CCWC Board President.
Be The Difference at this year’s CCWC
The theme of the 2018 Central California Women’s Conference is “Be the Difference.” Attendees will celebrate their differences and be inspired to move forward in making a difference in all areas, including careers, relationships, and personal growth.
In addition to Shriver, Mallika Chopra will address the crowd. Chopra is the founder of Intent.com. Her latest book is titled Living with Intent: My Somewhat Messy Journey to Purpose, Peace and Joy. The YouTube channel, The Chopra Well, which she launched with her brother, Gotham Chopra, and her father, Deepak Chopra, has 200,000 followers.
A full day of growth and enrichment
Attendees will also choose three breakout sessions to attend throughout the day. There are 21 options to choose from. Career development, health, and finance are just some of the topics included. In addition, the CCWC will honor 20 young women who will receive the Wells Fargo/CCWC College and Career Preparation Scholarships.
“This year’s lineup is so diverse and rich in valuable information,” Casares said. “Our board and team couldn’t be more excited about the day we have planned for our attendees. This unforgettable conference will be a day of information, networking, fun, great food, and ‘retail therapy’ for our hard-working women of this Valley.”
Tickets are $125 each and are limited to the first 3,500 attendees. The conference typically sells out.
The Central California Women’s Conference is a non-profit organization designed to educate, motivate, and inspire women to be the best they can be in their professional and personal lives. It was founded in 1988 by the late State Senator Ken L. Maddy of Fresno.
