Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are some fun suggestions for events happening in Fresno and beyond.
Friday
• It’s Greek Fest! The annual festival featuring food, drinks, live music, dancing, activities for the kids, and more starts at 4 p.m. Friday at St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Admission is $6 for adults. Seniors 65+ and kids 12 and under are free.
• Bring the family out to Polynesian Dance Night at Moravia Wines. Starting at 6 p.m., Moravia grounds are open for picnicking, kids to play on the SS Moravia, and everyone to relax while the sun sets over the vines. Cost is $5 for adults; free to anyone 21 and under.
• Check out Journey tribute band Midnight Run at Engelmann Cellars! Music starts at 7 p.m. Cover is $15 for this 21-and-over event.
• Nights in the Plaza Paz presents Valley favorite The BOX in a night of incredible dance music. Bring your family and some comfortable chairs and spend the evening under the stars. Doors open at 7 p.m.; show starts at 8. Cost is $12 for adults, $5 for kids.
• Viva La Oldschool takes over Warnor’s Theatre at 7 p.m. This all-ages show features MC Magic, Baby Bash, Amanda Perez, The Notations & Dj Kane of the Kumbia Kings. Tickets start at $25.
• Musicians Vanessa Silberman and Carissa Johnson present the Rise & Shine Tour at 7:30 p.m. at Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Co.
• The Brewery Comedy Tour returns to Full Circle Brewing Co. at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15.
• It’s Kanye VS Drake starting at 9 p.m. at Strummer’s. Admission for this 21+ event is $5.
Saturday
• Fresno’s First Drag Festival: Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful will take place at 10 a.m. at the Fresno Fairgrounds. Enjoy food, shopping, and live entertainment.
• Greek Fest continues Saturday. Get in on the fun from 11 a.m. to midnight.
• It’s the Bitwise Pop-Up Dinner Series featuring Chef Aaron Nielsen at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy a four-course Southern-style meal with wine pairings. Cost is $65.
• Marco Antonio Solis takes over the Save Mart Center at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.; tickets start at $90.
• The Battle of the Bands for Gen-X Summer Tour concludes at 7 p.m. at Full Circle Brewing Co. See bands battle for a spot on the Gen-X Summer Tour. Tickets start at $46.50.
• There will be a couple of comedy shows happening around town. See Matt Cole at Bobby Salazar’s on Blackstone starting at 9 p.m. Across town, Patrick O’Sullivan will headline at DiCicco’s in Old Town Clovis at 8 p.m.
Sunday
• The Weekend Blender – Not Your Typical Comic Con is Sunday starting at 10 a.m. This all-ages indoor mall show is free.
• It’s the last day for Greek Fest, which will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Enjoy the sounds of Latin/Funk Band TOMA during Beertainment Sunday at Full Circle Brewing Co. starting at 4 p.m. This all-ages show is free.
• The 5th annual Bowling for Rhinos fundraiser will be held at Bowlero starting at 5:45 p.m. Help the Fresno Chaffee Zoo chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers strike out extinction. Admission is $25.
