Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are some fun suggestions for events happening in Fresno and beyond.
Friday
Enjoy lunch every Friday at the Fresno Water Tower from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This week’s Eatin’ on Eaton flavors are: NayNay’s Filipino Flavors, El Premio Mayor, and Sno Cafe.
Fresno’s biggest outdoor country music event, Boots In The Park, starts at 5 p.m. at Regional Sports Complex. This event is open to all ages and features multiple bars, BBQ and food selections, vendors, and more. Strictly 21+ to drink.
For you 90s kids, No Duh, a Tribute to No Doubt, will take the stage at Engelmann Cellars at 6 p.m. This is a 21 and over event. Cost is $15 at the gate.
At 7:05 p.m., the Fresno Grizzlies host the Albuquerque Isotopes on the field while the Princess Ball takes over the concourse. There will be 10 of your favorite princesses in the ballpark, a special dance with a light-up dance floor, princess sing-alongs, fireworks, and more activities for kids. All kids 12 and under in costume get a free ticket to the game.
FAB Fridays presents Sharon Needles at 8 p.m. at FAB Fresno. Cost is $20; $30 for a meet and greet.
See the classic movie Annie on the big screen at the historic Crest Theatre in downtown Fresno at 8 p.m. Cost is $5.
The Woodward Shakespeare Festival kicks off its 14th season with one of Shakespeare’s classics, Othello, a tale of love, jealousy, deceit, and trust. The action starts at 8 p.m. at Woodward Park. See it again Saturday at the same time.
Saturday
Join a Group Mindfulness Walk at 7:30 a.m. in downtown Fresno. Meet and begin at Iron Bird Lofts/Rio Acai Bowl, 1915 Fulton Street (near Fulton and Divisadero). Walkers will stroll the Mural District, seeing Fresno’s amazing outdoor artwork, including the newest mural by Los Angeles artist, Sand One.
Enjoy the Summer Mercado at Fres.Co from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mercado is a bimonthly music, food and craft event that fosters and supports local talent.
The 3rd Annual Repurposed Skate Deck Auction and Fundraiser is happening at Gazebo Gardens Nursery at 6 p.m. Hosted by Fresno Skateboard Salvage, this family-friendly event features live music, food trucks, beer garden, and more.
See Good Company Players present Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at 7:30 p.m. at Roger Rocka’s in the Tower District.
The Artourage presents Homebrewed featuring live music from The Red Coats, Fulton’s Folly, Hyperslugz, and Ryan James at 8 p.m. at Full Circle Brewing Co. This all-ages event costs $7.
Clay Newman headlines Slice of Comedy at DiCicco’s in Old Town Clovis at 8 p.m. This joke-slinging rabble-rouser has been delighting audiences across the west coast for over five years with his tales of life, love, and all that other crap that fills our days.
Sunday
Start the day with a Summer Pop-Up Bakery at 10 a.m. at the Vintage Market at 601. This event is hosted by Ooh De Lolli.
Kings River Winery in Sanger will host Coloring Between the Wines from 2 to 4 p.m. Coloring sheets and colored pencils will be provided. Wine available for purchase.
Dixie Salazar presents Piano and Poetry at Arte Américas at 3 p.m. The event will begin with a collaborative set of live piano and flute music featuring Kristina Trejo and Ruben Hurtado. It’s free and open to the public.
Full Circle Brewing Co. presents Beertainment Sundays featuring the sounds of ¡Toma! Enjoy food by Casa de Flores Catering. The all-ages event is free and starts at 4 p.m.
The WWE Live SummerSlam Heatwave Tour hits the Save Mart Center at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $15.
