Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are some fun suggestions for events happening in Fresno and beyond.
Friday
Start your evening at 6 p.m. with some wine tasting at the Meux Home Museum. It’s for those who are 21 years and older, and it’s a $10 donation.
If coffee and dessert is more your jam, head over to The Revue for the Ooh De Lolli pop-up featuring guitarist Ted Nunes at 6 p.m.
Henry Phillips is headlining Slice of Comedy at DiCicco’s in Clovis. That starts at 7 p.m.
John Cleese! Need I say more? How about Saroyan Theatre, 8 p.m.
Also at 8 p.m. is a screening of one of the best musicals ever, Singin’ in the Rain, at the Crest Theatre in downtown Fresno. Admission is $5.
Finally, the Kings of Blackstone will be live at Goldstein’s Mortuary and Delicatessen at 9 p.m.
Saturday
Start your day at ApCal in Madera. Rock-a-Palooza will feature three bands—one playing 70s hits, one playing 80s, and one playing 90s. Admission in $15 in advance, $20 at the gate.
At 2 p.m., the Central California Area Derby girls take on the Westside WreckHers in That 70s Showdown Roller Derby! Takes place at Full Circle Brewing Co., admission is $10, kids 10 and under are free.
Also at 2 p.m., local poet and educator Kenneth Robert Chacón will read from his book, The Cholo Who Said Nothing and Other Poems, at Fig Garden Regional Library.
Guitarist Steve Ono will play folk, blues, and songs from the great American Songbook at Vino Grille and Spirits starting at 6 p.m.
The Fresno Football Club hosts the OKC Energy Football Club at 7 p.m. at Chukchansi Park. Somos Zorros!
At 8 p.m., hit up Strummer’s in your dapperest duds for the 21+, free Dapper Stroll & Soiree Pub Crawl Swing Dance Party. The 2nd annual Dapper Stroll & Soiree will take place across the Tower District starting at 7:30. Wristbands are $5.
And Boxcar Figaro is bringing their Americana-style music to Goldstein’s at 9 p.m.
Sunday
Get up early for the Tottenham vs Chelsea match, which you can watch at Tower Sports Club at 8 a.m.
The free and kid-friendly Egg-streme Easter Egg Hunt will take place at Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Co. at 12 p.m.
Check out A Salute to Neil Diamond featuring Tommy Lee Crouse Unplugged and Uncorked at 1 p.m. at Engelmann Cellars.
Birdstone Winery in Madera will host Marie Wilson for an afternoon of great music, food, wine, and relaxation. This starts at 2 p.m.
And finally, get your laugh on with Just The Tips Comedy Show and Open Mic at Grogg’s Irish Pub. Headliner is Andres Taboada.
