• CineCulture presents Electric Shadows
Where: Peters Education Center Auditorium, Fresno State

What: Electric Shadows marks the directing debut of Xiao Jiang, one of the few active female film directors in China. The film begins when a young woman mysteriously attacks a stranger and then asks him to care for her fish while she is being arrested. When he enters her apartment, he discovers an apparent shrine to the iconic Chinese singer and film actress of the 1930s, Zhou Zuan, nicknamed “the Golden voice,” and that they share a love of the cinema and more.

• Contemporary Dance Ensemble: Epistêmê

What: The Contemporary Dance Ensemble (CDE) is pleased to present its annual spring dance production, Epistêmê, a series of 5 new, original, contemporary dance works and one returning favorite. “Epistêmê” is a philosophical term from the Ancient Greek which can refer to knowledge, science, or understanding. What: Trashique is the primary fundraiser for the Fresno Art Museum in 2018. Proceeds from the event directly support the stellar exhibitions and programs of FAM. What: Toby Muresianu started comedy while an engineering student in Providence, RI. After graduating, he moved to Seattle to work at noted arts incubator Microsoft Corporation. There he developed his style of smart but irreverent comedy before ditching engineering for a reliable career telling jokes for nickels. Since then he has performed in 17 countries, appeared on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle II, and written jokes for shows form Real Time with Bill Maher to CMT’s Ron White’s Comedy Salute to the Troops.
