By now you’ve probably heard of a pop-up. Typically a one-time event like a dinner or a museum exhibit or a juice bar, pop-ups are often held at unusual locations and feature activities or products you can’t really find elsewhere. It’s a fun way to stumble on a new experience.
At this point, I thought all the pop-up events had been invented, but then I heard of Catppuccino.
Taking pet adoption to the next level
Catppuccino isn’t a new coffee drink, it’s a cat-themed pop-up that takes pet adoption to the next level with snacks and shopping in a kid-friendly environment.
This Friday, Aug. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m., you can head to Bitwise South Stadium, shop local vendors, and pet cats. Who knows, while checking out Graham Cracker‘s unique design goods and Casual Glitz‘s Fresno-centric art, you might find a furry friend to take home with you.
Feral Paws Rescue will provide on-site adoptions. Since it’s a no-kill, all-volunteer shelter that saves cats from high-kill shelters in California, you really are helping save a furry life when you adopt from them.
Even if you already have a furry friend at home, you can still check out local vendors like The Barkley Brothers, who will have their fall collection debut at Catppuccino. The Barkley Brothers specialize in dog and cat ties for every occasion. Also, gourmet popsicles will be on hand from Pops Emporium, so you can satisfy your sweet tooth while you shop.
Bitwise goes to the dogs
If you’re a dog person only, relax. Dogs will have their day on Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. when Bitwise transforms into Pupwise. Partnering with Valley Animal Center, there will be vendors, dog photography, and doggy play time. Valley Animal Center will have their mobile adoption unit on site. Even if your heart’s already full of fur, you can still help out the center by donating supplies such as towels, antibacterial dish soap, blankets, and towels.
These events are a great way to support the community and help the local pet population. It’s also a great place to buy a tie for your pet! You can find out more about both of these events on Facebook. The Catppuccino event page is here, and Pupwise event information is here. Bitwise South Stadium is located at 700 Van Ness Avenue.
