Grew up in: Fresno
Attended school at: Fresno State, Clovis East High School
Family: Husband Ben and our dachshunds Winston and Rory.
What I like about Fresno: Its central location just a few hours away from the mountains and the beach, its cultural diversity, and its plethora of good food choices.
Favorite story I’ve written: My favorite story is one I wrote a year and a half ago about a man traveling cross country on his bicycle to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer, which his wife was suffering from. He traveled 6300 miles over 112 days in a journey called the Pancreatic Cancer Victory Tour. He was a very inspirational individual to write about.
What FresYes means to me: FresYes means taking pride in your community and seeking out the positives rather than the negatives, and at its heart, being a part of the community and creating the change you wish to see. If everyone just complained, Fresno wouldn’t be the thriving epicenter of the Valley it is today; instead, many have heeded the FresYes spirit and have taken it upon themselves to open new businesses, promote fun events, and make this town a great place to live.
Favorite Fresno landmark: I love historic buildings. If I had to choose my favorite in Fresno, it would have to be the Fresno City College library.
Favorite place to get a drink in the Fresno area: Tough choice, but I’m going to go with BC’s Pizza and Beer in Clovis.
Favorite Fresno food destination: I can’t choose a favorite. A few places that come to mind are Salsa’s Mexican Grill, Tandoori Night, Manchester Steakhouse, and Sakura Chaya.
Favorite thing to do on the weekend: Head to the beach.
Favorite non-Fresno destination: Cayucos, CA
Cake or pie: Cake
More about me: Hobbies include writing, singing, reading, couponing, and collecting sea glass.
