Grew up in: Fresno
Family: Dog Peeve
What I like about Fresno: I love Fresno because it is a real place with down-to-earth people. I love our diversity and all of the great produce and the nearby Sierra Nevadas, San Joaquin River.
Favorite story I’ve written: The story I wish everyone would read is about the Whole Food Plant Based diet (How a Really Bad Visit to the Doctor Made Me Change My Entire Life) because it could help so many people.
What FresYes means to me: FresYes is an attitude. It’s about the decision to be positive. It counteracts the cynicism and naysayers who’ve dominated the conversation for far to long.
Favorite Fresno landmark: Pacific Southwest Building. It’s such an incredible building plus my son Cole and I lived in the 15th floor for two years. So every time i see it it makes me smile.
Favorite place to get a drink in Fresno area: Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Co.
Favorite Fresno food destination: Los Panchos. A Craig’s Special Margarita and vegan burrito!
Favorite thing to do on the weekend: Hike in the Central Sierra Nevada.
Favorite non-Fresno destination: In California, San Francisco.
Cake or pie: Pie or cobbler!
More about me: I love to explore cities—every one is interesting. I read fiction and nonfiction. I watch every Best Picture nominee prior to the Academy Awards. I hike and fly fish as often as possible. I live in a partially restored 1925 bungalow in Fresno’s Lowell neighborhood with my best friend Peeve. I’m Clark and Emmett’s grandpa, and they are the loves of my life!
