One thing to admire about Fresno is that in recent years, our city has been trying extremely hard to revitalize downtown. There have been many things that have helped this process along. The contributing factor to this happening has been that new businesses are deciding that Downtown Fresno is the place to be.
There is a new endeavor that is adding to this revitalization.
Fresno State is now offering professional development courses at a new site called the Downtown Center. This center is located at 700 Van Ness Ave, in the new Bitwise South Stadium, at Van Ness and Mono. The Downtown Center is a by-product of a collaboration between Fresno State – Division of Continuing and Global Education and Bitwise Industries. The idea behind this partnership is to reach the Downtown Fresno workforce in offering professional development courses. These courses offered are geared for those who are in many areas of business.
The nice thing about the Downtown Center is that since many new businesses are making Downtown their home, this site is in a perfect location. For Fresno State and Bitwise Industries to see a need, and fulfill it, makes for great opportunities! Fresno State will be expanding to a new section of town. What a wonderful way to bring extended education out to the community, and community is one thing we take pride in here at FresYes!
Fresno State has 3 upcoming classes, with various registration deadline dates. The Division of Continuing and Global Education, in partnership with the Fresno Advertising Federation (and supported by the Better Business Bureau), have developed this series of workshops aimed at small businesses. The goal is to help them use digital marketing tools to increase traffic.
The series is called Marketing in a Digital World.
The classes offered this fall are:
- Creating More Customers with Digital Marketing
- Basic Website Creation
- Making Social Media Work for Small Business
If you’re interested in attending any of these courses, or to get more details about the courses, check out their website. You can register there, or call the Division of Continuing and Global Education at 559-278-0333.
I really am excited to see this kind of activity downtown. I love downtown Fresno and I think this is an excellent opportunity for business owners in Fresno. Remember, anyone can register, so let’s spread the word about this exciting opportunity!
