Corey Feldman. Actor in some of the best 80s movies (The Fox and the Hound, The Goonies, Stand By Me, The Lost Boys, The ‘Burbs, License to Drive), one half of the teen magazine-staple duo “the Coreys” (R.I.P. Corey Haim), and loyal friend to Michael Jackson.
But what’s he doing in 2017?
Short answer: music.
Longer answer: Embarking on a 34-stop tour called “Corey’s Heavenly Tour: Angelic 2 The U.S.” that is making its way to Fresno on Friday, October 13.
If you only know Feldman from his acting career, his appearances on reality shows, or that weird Michael Jackson friendship, you might be surprised to learn Angelic 2 the Core, the impetus for this tour, is Feldman’s fifth album. It’s a double LP dedicated to both Haim and Jackson.
Feldman’s music is described as “dance pop.” He got a lot of attention for it after an appearance on The Today Show last year went viral (not for the quality of the music, unfortunately). A similarly strange follow-up appearance on the show also got a lot of attention, which, you know: whatever. Feldman seems like he’s having fun. After working his ass off as a child in a rough, rough industry, I’d say he’s earned it.
I think if you go to this show, you’re probably in for a fun night, whether you’re there for spectacle, for love of 80s cinema, or out of sheer curiosity.
To get a taste of what Feldman is bringing to Fresno (including the women he bizarrely calls his “angels”), check out the video below for a song called “Duh.”
